Star Elementary Technology Project

Using 21st Century Learning Tools in the Classroom

Star Elementary is part of the Meridian School District.  We are a K through 5th grade school located in Star, Idaho.  Our technology journey began many years ago with the use of SuccessMaker and Discovery Education.  Projectors and Document Cameras were added to our school in 2007 and 2009.  We received 41 iPads from a grant in the Spring of 2011 for use with 4th and 5th grade students, and our Booster Club purchased another 17 for teachers at our school.  In the Fall of 2011 we also received an additional 130 iPod Touches to be used in sets of 10 in our Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms.  In the Fall of 2012 we received a grant from Smart Collaborative Classrooms which included 4 Smart Boards, 4 Projectors, and 4 Doc Cameras in a multimedia room.  We have also added 5 iPods to each 4th and 5th grade classroom.  Be sure to check out our site to what we have learned about using hand held devices with students!
